Early2008 MBP 2.4 with PT9 and soundminer, vent going crazy??
Hi,
I installed the 9.0 version on my early 2008MAcboo Pro along with the soundmienr license i need for Sound design. Everythign plays great, no hatch's. But immedietely when i run PT9 the vent is going faster. Also when i turn off the PT9 it goes immediately slowly. Is that normal? Is the PT9 software such big of a hog for the Processor that it needs to cool it down so much? i dont really mind the noise TBH, but i fear for the computer inner's, i can work all day and just forget about the fan going nuts.. Any thoughts? Should i try to mess with the fan control or leave it alone and let it work as it is?

Hi Thanks for the response.
I do aplogoize, the signature is pretty old. I did get it upgraded it to 4gb a while ago. Also, when runnign activity widnow in the back, i can see PT is running more than a 100 of CPu form time to time, i.s. start up...

My 2007 Santa Rosa MacBook with 4GB of RAM runs PT9 fine. It chokes on big sessions with lots of VI's, but smaller sessions run very smoothly. Your MBP has a bunch of protections built into it to keep it from overheating. Don't worry about the fan being on- that's normal.
And if the fan noise really bothers you, buy a Mac Pro! |

Re: Early2008 MBP 2.4 with PT9 and soundminer, vent going crazy??
Hi,
THanks for your ost. By smoothly u mean, without a glitch of quiet? BEside the 6101 errors i am quite accustomed to by now, it runs superb. Music projects, Movie projects, u name it. Praise the PT9 and MBP.. Its just that it goes wo freaking fast sometimes. i am afraid to leave it open (the programe)... And i dont remember being it so fast (the vent) from always, and the MBP is 3 years old this year.
