Default Stylus RMX bug?

Hello, I have had this reoccuring problem with Stylus RMX and Pro Tools 6 and higher. I am currently using PT7, 2 192 interfaces, HD3. After I have stylus RMx open for a while and Im auditioning loops and such, All of the sudden the loops start to play back distored. Kind of hard to explain, but everything starts to sound distorted and unlistenable. I have to take Stylus off the insert and re open it again, really annoying. This has been a problem that I have lived with since PT 6 and the original stylus. I can't seem to find the reason for this, has anyone had this problem B4, what can I do? Thanks Brett

I have never had distortion issues, but RMX can get very sluggish and hard to work with at times. Then it's time to delete all "Digidesign databases".
No problems with B4, though.

yep, i had it too. i did a re-start and everything played fine. it was a small session. i think it occurred after fooling around with chaos.

Search for "digidesign databases" on all mounted drives, and delete them.

I have not had the distortion problem but I have had Stylus and Kontakt just stop outputting audio. To fix that problem I hard bypass the plug-in off and then back on again. Specifically:
1. Hold down the Control (Ctrl) and Command (Apple) keys and click on the plug-in insert. The insert will turn grey to let you know that it has been hard bypassed.
2. Hold down Ctrl and Cmd again and click on the grayed out insert to re-enable it.

That fixes the problem for me every time.

No need to panic. The distortion you're hearing is annoying, but a simple restart will fix it. This was probably cause by a spike in CPU usage, which some plugins recover from easily (Kontakt can, just as the other person said) and some do not. No need to start playing around with the OS.

Wow, I'm so glad someone brought this up. My problem with Stylus RMX is that I'll be using it and everything is fine until after spending some time browsing through the loops, the PC (Windows XP) slows down to a crawl. The browsing in Stylus seems to be where the problem is. It's really annoying because I have to print to audio, every loop I like. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

PS -- I have not had this problem with Tracktion 2 or Fruity Loops...

My problem is that Stylus loses sync.

Closing and reopening the session fixes (for awhile). Problem sometimes recurs.

Maybe you should email Spectrasonics this thread. If they see there is a common issue with Stylus RMX maybe they will work on a fix. I was thinking of picking it up but now I don't know if I should.
