digi002 - how to send from one input to an output?
hi guys...
well....for now, i had to do my sequencing on my MPC2000XL for my show coming (was gonna run off protools with my powerbook, but didn't have enough time for that)... anywho...i have an 8-outputs card on my mpc...so i'm going 8 out into the 8 ins of the digi002. now...i run a click out from my mpc2000 headphone output (by the way, the click volume from the mpc is maxed out) into a headphone amp, then to headphones so our drummer can keep tempo...but he's been complaining that when we start rocking it...he has to TRY to hear the click. i really don't wanna chance having him not being able to hear it on stage and totally ending up with a mess....so i wanna be able to send the click track INTO the digi002, then OUTPUT it from there into the headphone amp/headphones just so i can have a fader so i can raise even higher just in case he can't hear it. here's the thing...how do i send the click to a specific out? i mean...the only output i use are main1/main2, because that's where my speakers are hooked to, but other than that i don't know how to use the other outputs. can someone help? sorry for the long explanation, but just wanted to put ya in my shoes. _chris |

Re: digi002 - how to send from one input to an out
If he doesn't need any of the mix it would be pretty simple to assign the click output to 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 output, feed that to his HP amp, and it wouldn't be in your main 1/2 L/R outputs.
The $64 question is whether he needs any of the music or monitors in his mix. Then you'd need to set up aux sends with enough music for it to make sense. Going through the 002 will add some latency to the click, but could be made small enough to not be a big deal, surely. If he needs both, it might make sense to hunt up an extra Mackie 1202 or something and feed him click from your KB, and music from your 002, vocals from your monitor, and let him balance it. And even look for tighter closed HPs for better isolation.

Re: digi002 - how to send from one input to an out
You've got the KB click already routed to the 002, right? For the click track in PT, in the I/O column in the Edit window, click on Analog 1-2, and select Interface/Analog 3-4. On the back of the 002, plug his headphone amp into outputs 3-4 and your done. I don't know, but you may be able to just plug his headphones directly into 3 OR 4... He'll be getting half a stereo signal, but it shouldn't matter, and I bet it will be in both ears.
Better test this before showtime.
