Default Offline bounce with hardware inserts

How does offline bounce works with external outboard.

Or is that out of question?

Just to make sure.

Hey

I doubt that will work and we have been having to bouce the track/s down before the offline bounce otherwise the outboard gear doesn't follow.

If anyone else knows for sure I would also like to know but seriously doubt this will work.

Best

I'm going with, no
same reason you can't monitor an offline bounce

Limitations of Offline Bounce

When using the Offline Bounce option, the following are not included in the bounce:

Hardware Inserts
• External MIDI driven audio (such as outboard
MIDI synthesizers or samplers).
• External audio sources monitored by Auxiliary
Input tracks.
• DSP only plug-ins (OfflineBounce always uses
the Native version of DSP plug-ins, but only if
they are available).
• Any audio source that is synchronized externally.

Also pay special attention to the fact that DSP plugins cannot be used during offline bounce, only Native (listed in the above post, just wanted to emphasize). This seemingly small detail can be a real headache.

Offline bounce is such a sweet feature that it's enough to push me away from DSP plugs and outboard gear wherever possible.

It's impossible for offline bounce to include outboard equipment for a number of reasons - but if you think about it for a moment, even if PT could get the audio out of the DAC's (let alone back in the ADC's), for the audio to be bounced at say 10x speed, it's frequency would be shifted way higher than any outboard equipment could be optimised to operate at.

You can still use DSP plug-ins. What offline bounce does, is instead of piping the audio through the DSP chips, it automatically streams it through the Native version of which ever DSP plug-in was being used in the realtime mix (provided the plug-in vendor makes a Native version of that particular plug-in).

HEAT is a good example. It is only available as a DSP addition to the mixer, for HD systems only, but is rendered in a Native version of HEAT (not available to HD Native, or regular PT systems) during offline bounce.

Yep, and that's bugging me. Having a HEAT license from the old TDM days and using a HDN system now, and not being able to use HEAT makes me sad. Clearly it has a native version, because it can be offline-bounced. It just needs to see a DSP card for some reason.
