Re: ProControl and G5 question
>so far the only thing it sees on stereo tracks, is the left pan<
You can switch between the left and right panners by pushing the "Pan" button to the left of the panners, above the "Input" button.

Hmmmm....Interesting. Propably this loss of communication is a G5 issue. Maybe there's a clue in getting hints from digidesign how to configure network settings? |

Re: ProControl and G5 question
Just an update-
I have been running the G5 for the last 3 days and all I can say is WOW- I mean really WOW- As a torture test, I ran the following session- Now let me say up front, this session did not have any automation (since it was all stems). OK, I ran 40 tracks of 48k/24bit audio with a Quicktime movie from the same Firewire 400 drive- just to be greedy, I turned playhead scrolling on. Well- It all played. And the counters and meters behaved like a 1 track session on my G4 933 (single). Just for giggles- I turned on the Picon track (set to frames as opposed to blocks) this did cause some periodic lurching- however I think it was more to the drive being able to keep up- it was running with nearly no available seek time with this option running. my conclusion is that I should have went this way months ago- I bought a refurb dual 2.0 (wPCI-X) form Apple for 2099.00, I then put a 250 gig second drive in and another gig of ram- total cost for everything including monitor adaptors was under 2500.00 If you are on the fence, I would really recommend it- The responsiveness of the interface is an order of magnitude better compared to the G4 (even the dual 1.25's) Oh yes- It is the quietest mac I have ever owned- I actually am getting bothered by the noise my powerbook makes now... (except when using the DVD drive- that is still noisy) One downside- the thing requires a lot of AC power. thats it for today- charles maynes Quote:
