loop playback help

im trying to make some drum loops. when i highlight an area it plays in a loop but if you change the highlighted area the loop doesnt change. you have to hit stop and then play again to get it to play the new loop. is there anyway to make the looped playback automatically change if you change the highlighted area?

that sucks, also i noticed that you can make the selection longer from the begining or end by transient by hitting tab shift or tab shift opt but theres no way to make the selection shorter by a transient.
