MBox Shuts off Randomly and Feeds Back

Pro Tools LE 7.4

When I have my MBox plugged into my laptop via USB it will sometimes turn off randomly and for no apparent reason, causing a loud pop in my monitors. Sometimes it will also start to create a really disgusting sounding delay with a small segment of audio and play the regular audio under it.

Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions as to what the problem is?

How long have you been using your MBox 2?

Is it new?

Someone else had a post with MBox 2 problems and thought may it had something to do with the drivers?

It's amazing... Another MBox 2 problem on a MacBook Pro.

I would venture to say that it's probable not the mac.

There's too many issues with these units.

And.... I'm just about to buy one?

Another issue pops up and I wind up holding off and taking another step backward.

Man this is annoying!

I don't know much but I hope the driver thing helps.

Did you know that you should be using the USB port that is farthest away from the screen(i.e. closest to you)? Believe it or not, it makes a difference.
