You are absolutely right. I googled the error msg. and got that solution. I was trying to use my Behringer (super cheap) interface , which has always worked before when I'm away from home. So , since I'm home (though my Audient has had issues since I bought it 2years ago which nobody can seem to fix ))I plugged it in and SHAZZAAAMM. Protools is up and running. How can pt be industry standard with soooo many problems. Really it's ALWAYS something. So now I have to look for another cheap interface for traveling and( while the Audient is in the shop AAAGAIN) , that actually works with pt. Any suggestions.
