URGENT HELP!!!

Hi, I have this big problem, let me explain:

I have a concert tonight, and I use pro tools to play live. I brought in a CD the Pro tools sessions.

A friend brought his laptop to use it, its a HP dv6226us. Windows XP SP2, I connect the Mbox 2 Pro, with a 6-4 Firewire cable, but it doesnt recognize it, I've tried everything, and nothing makes it work.....please help me!!!!

Does the HP have protools installed? If so, what version is it and what version is your session created in? These are things that should be worked out well in advance of doing any show with protools. A much better solution is to bounce your stuff down to mixes and burn audio CD's that will play in any player. If the HP does not have protools, it may not even be compatible(I found out the hard way).

Well, the thing is I have on my home pc pro tools LC 7, and the same discs I used to install it on my home pc, i brought to miami, so i could install it on this laptop, both have windows xp sp2, but i dont know if there's a patch for the mbox 2 pro for laptops or i dont know....concert starts at 10....3 hours from now.....

Looking at your post,

The first Question I have is did you bring your 12V power supply and plug it in?
I ask this since you mention that you are using a 4 to 6 firewire cable.

6-pin to 4-pin cable. This cable does NOT supply power to the FireWire bus and is usually used to connect to DV Cameras or other self powered devices to a standard 6-pin computer connection. Some Windows computers will have a 4pin "I.Link" connector, especially on certain laptops, and if so you need a 6/4 cable to connect standard Firewire devices to this type of computer.

So does the Mbox2 Pro turn on?

Yeah, i did connect my mbox to the wall. It turns on, but when i start pro-tools it says that the mbox is not connected.

When i go to device manager, mbox appears with a yellow exclamation sign, and i uninstalled everything, and re-installed mbox, but it still doesnt recognize it.
