Default To use Mbox 2 as playback device in Windows Vista

When I used windows 7 I was able to use Mbox 2 as my standard playback device outside pro tools. And that was very nice because the internal soundcard in this computer is crap. Due to some problems with pro tools in Win7 I went back to vista. The problem though is that I cant find the mbox2 in the playback devices in Vista. Can anyone help?

:)

Which numeric version of Pro Tools are you using? (make sure it is the latest: 8.0.4)

In my opinion, Windows 7 is much better for Pro Tools use now that we have an official supported release.

If you have the beta installed, follow the uninstall directions of the new release VERY CAREFULLY. It's important.

No, right now I have 8.0.1 installed on my Vista system. But if there is an official release for win7 64-bit I will go back to Win7.

Yeah, there was no system audio driver for Vista until this newest release, so... even if you stay with Vista, you should use the new 8.0.4.

There is (finally!) and I would highly recommend it. W7 is so much better than Vista on so many levels.

Thank you so much for this helpful and kind answer. You have convinced me. I will go back to Win7 as fast as I can then.
