Don't let windows install the drivers. The install should be done completely from the install disk without any help from windows.

I would look at drivers...Make sure anything not needed in the bioas is disables also. USB/Network Card (especially on board)....
Especially check all the IRQ's...

From M$ sites..

INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to interpret or read Stop 0xC2 error messages in Microsoft Windows XP. The Stop 0xC2 error message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver incorrectly tried to perform a memory operation. Typically, faulty device drivers or device software cause this error message.

MORE INFORMATION
Windows XP contains many features that enhance the pool allocation process for device drivers and other software. Microsoft added several new Stop error codes to help you locate drivers that do not work correctly. By using these features, you may be able to determine the cause of a driver malfunction through a debugging operation.

Make sure you're following the installation instructions.. do NOT use the New Hardware Wizard.

Read the SP2 thread at the top of the forum. If you're running SP2 make sure you have the right Pro Tools version and check out the DEP fix.

If you already tried installing incorrectly - you'll need to manually clean up... search the DUC for the words +dalwdm.sys +delete +Rail and you should find directions from me on how to clean your system.
