Well I got a new MBOX and all works fine, it really was the hardware.. Just to be cheeky I bought a 1.5Tb external hard disk for my PT songs and it runs like a dream

well just bought the new m box 3 and i am having similar issues , when i set a session up at 96 khz and import a instrumental no matter what sample rate i select it plays back in slow motion any thing above 48 khz plays sped up even when i set up a session at 44.1 and import a instrumental at 44.1 it still plays in slow motion can anyone help me with this situation is anyone else experiencing this ???? is this a defect within the m box 3 ???? and will avid replace it if it is ???? i purchased it from guitar center and they say they wont replace it or refund my money because i already installed the software , therefore will avid take care of it ???? from what i understand i only get one support call ????

your mbox is defective too, as was the OP's, as was mine.

This is apparently a common problem with the new Mboxes, though Ive only seen ppl have this problem with the Mboxes, not with the minis or pros.

On this forum alone, Ive read about 6 other topics with ppl reporting the same problem. This product has been out what, like a month? I never had a problem with my other interfaces. I stop buying digidesign's LE stuff years ago coz of the crap quality. Then Im on the market for a good USB interface, and I hear some very good things about the Mbox. I buy it, and guess what, it doesnt work. I just lost two weeks.

Hey I'm having a similar issue...mine might be a little different, but it sounds the same.

I've imported an mp3 and its playing back really slow...like it gets slower and slower. I record vocals over the music, and that seems to come out fine...well it keeps in tempo with the music i guess.

I've made a midi instrumental, and that seems to work fine.

Does it sound like i have the same issue?

I'm not sure if its possibly just the mp3....is there a way i can test this problem with the clocking?

I've also just added a wave file to the session and its ridiculously slow.

Ok...i decided to download the MP3 option...problem solved!

OK i'm stumped.
It was working fine this arvo...I've just opened a new session a couple of hours later, and now its going slow again.

I'm on LE 8.04.

Is it possibly a driver problem?
