Default Control 24 "Personality" Issue with PT 6.01

Hi I got everything working great in PT 6.0 including the Control 24. I hen was brave and decided to update Pt to 6.01. well everything works great except that every time I try to get the control 24 to be recognized I get asks me for it'f personality file and says that I need to put the personality file in the controllers folder. I went into the controllers file per the digi user base and it showed the control 24 as being there. s that the personality file.

Any one have this problem?

I've had the same trouble with PT 6.0. Did you find a solution?

Yes I downgraded back to 6.0 and the problem is gone. Ver strange, I think I will wait for the next release before I swap out again.

I was fine on 6.0 but 6.1 did this to me (amoungst other things like always leaving the Grooves and IO sttings folders on the desktop).

I have tried to go back even using a special remove all uninstaller from digi but I am now suffering the same in 6.0.

Out of interest its not a control 24 but a procontrol in my rig, so I wonder if all controllers are vulnerable.

I have some disturbing news.

I tried creating a new user and reintalling but I still got errors.

In the end I totally reinstalled the whole OS and put a basic PT6.0 version in straight from the cd. Errors.

I was really hoping this problem wouldnt be one of those ones that seems to mess things up even when you reintall the OS but it is.

There was no option to zero all data in the OSX reinstall. Anyone know how to do that?

Got it!

OK what is happening is this...

The PT app must be in the Apps/Digi/PT folder. If you accidentally copy the application file to the desktop instead of making an alias and moving it, you will launch pt from the desktop. This will prevent it from seeing the correct controllers folder, instead creating a new (empty) one on the desktop.

Trash all prefs, restart, and launch the app from the Apps folder.

Digi sorry for implying that your code was anything but working perfectly!
