Default Audio Clip Sync Points

Hi

Is it possible to paste an audio clip that already has a sync point to sync to cursor or marker. This way all my markers that a place holders if you like I can go through and just paste and by right the sound will be in sync, the particular audio clips have lead in so how I am doing it atm is cutting the clip pasting and going back through timeline and trimming back out. I am hoping for a better workflow.

Thanks

yes, but not using cut/paste. place the cursor where you want the sync point, then control-shift-click (mac os) or start-shift-click (windows) on the clip using the grabber tool.

If you put the Sync Point in a Clip, turn on Grid and put the Grid in Clips and Markers, will the Sync Point soft snap to the Marker as you move the Clip's Sync Point to the Marker? The front of a Clip will soft snap to a Marker, not sure if a Sync Point will.

Sorry, not near PT to test right now.

just tested for you ..

1) if you have NO Sync Point - the Beginning of Clip Soft-Sync's
2) if you place a Sync Point in your clip - the Sync Point is what Soft Sync's to Bar Lines and Markers (when in Grid mode of course)

NOTE: i have not found a way to have sync points set in your clips and then wish to Soft Sync or Sync at all with the Beginning of a Clip, for that matter without removing ll the sync points .. or lets say - a way to defeat this once there is a Sync Point in a Clip ..

AFAIK, it's in the keyboard shortcuts:

Put the Cursor in the Clip you want the other to line up with, the front or back or a Sync Point, then Start+Click on the other clip and the front goes to the cursor or Start+Ctrl+Click and the back goes to the Cursor. Put a Sync Point in both, Tab to the Sync Point in one and Start+Shift+Click on the other and the Sync Points line up - or where the Cursor is. Sorry, I'm on Windows, there's similar for Mac.

You can see the keyboard shortcuts for this in the Keyboard Shortcuts PDF.

And you can Scrub the Sync Point(s) to put them exactly where you want.

Hey thanks guys will give those a go. I am familiar with the snap to feature both with and without sync points. Looks like PT does not have the feature I am looking for.

As mentioned, try Grid on and set to Clips And Marker.
