Actually a very interesting offer - remember DLS + AVID (or Digidesign interface) works as a DSP add on in PT - OR- as a standalone DSP system in any DAW... Prices are competitive ... getting interesting indeed!

Isn't it great that the upgrade price from the native bundles to SG DLS is the same as from TDM/ SG...

Not sure what you are saying - All TDM plugs are already upgraded for free in your account to SG right -- all you have to do is buy the DLS...

That is correct.

This promotion by Waves is obviously more beneficial to Waves Native users.

Ahh - I see -

Yes - there is no specials for upgrades of TDM bundles to Mercury -- like nst7 said - this one is aimed at the native users!

Just out of curiosity, are there any other advantages other than dedicated cpu (from digigrid) for the Waves plug-ins ? I'm using the new 6 cores Mac Pro and i'm mixing for TV and independent film with lots of tracks and plugs and i never even come close to maxing out my CPU.

Not a Waves hater - got a Mercury Native bundle And a Mercury TDM bundle (which is currently underused on an HDX rig) but have no use or desire for this at all - maybe 10 years ago. Are they really aware of the power of 6/12+ core PCs/Macs these days? I suppose they obviously are as they're trying to sell a rack PC to us! I still live in hope that they'll relent and port at least some of the core Post plugins to AAX DSP but I'm obviously a dreamer.

Sale - ie they weren't selling enough of them w/o the sale.

And fwiw I bet they don't sell that many more of them with this sale to continue production
