Default Does Boom Realy suck this bad?

Wow, I'm really disappointed with Boom. Why even give us an instrument that we can barely use. Maybe I'm just using it wrong... Can you send the drums out individual channels to effect each drum differently? Can you load anything other then the minimal stock sounds? We need something at least as good as Reason's ReDrum(I know I could just rewire but, I want to use all pt instruments) and something as good as Ultrabeat should come with Pt. I Hope I'm totally wrong about boom, but it seems that Boom is a toy and doesn't have the flexibility to make it a usable tool. Come on Digi stop teasing me.

I think Boom sounds fantastic and has ALOT of potentiel, great knobs and features but... The big downside is that I can't use my own samples, so for me that makes the machine totally useless. Pretty stupid if you ask me to not be able to put your own samples in there...

Which great knobs and features do yo like? I can't even figure out how to give individual drums different effects. I don't want global effect's on the whole kit.

Well some features are fun, like the simplicty of the sequencer, swing knob, decay, etc. But again, useless for me since I can't use my own samples. So I kinda agree with you here mate in general, it's more like a toy than a real tool for serious work.

I think Boom is a crippled "tool". Since you can't import own samples, has no effects or individual outputs I think they atleast should have put more drum sounds into each kit and also better/fatter sounds that's usable right out of the box without to much tweaking.

Specifically I would like to se future versions of Boom with more velocity sensitive kicks, snares, claps, hihats, crashes, etc per kit.

Search your hard drive for Creative Content it's a pdf.

There's some tips and tricks on the blog about this.

In answer to the question 'NO'

In answer to the 'wish list' where should this appear in AIR's priorities, before or after all the other things on the list being drawn up around the DUC?

What do you like about this drum machine? Am I making a mistake or can this drum machine do anything special. Only being able to effect the drums globally makes me not want to use the drum machine. It come's with a few good sounds but why can't I use the huge collection I have? So please be a little more specific in why you say " In answer to the question 'NO'

Wow...I've only had PT8 up and running for the past 2 days or so, and I was super excited about Boom cause I make a lot of Hip Hop and R&B...

But if Boom doesn't have individual outputs, that really does make it completely useless...Damn, that sucks cause I like the way it sounds.

The only work around would be to put it on a bunch of instrument tracks and use each track for a different sound, but how taxing is that gonna be on my CPU...

I guess I'll find out, and I hope this VI doesn't quickly get tucked under the rug as a "Could of Been!"
