Default Sound Quality

I notice a huge difference when using virtual instruments on pro tools compared to fl studio or able live. Pro tools sounds a great deal more dull. Any help? Eq plugins?

Doesn't FL studio open with a limiter inserted on the mater as a default?

Out of curiosity which VI's?

There are templates that let you choose to start with an empty project or with a limiter.

The mixer in FL is a bit "colored" and digital in terms of sound quality compared to Pro Tools, although I cannot say the same for Abletone

In other words the tone is way more open (higher frequencies) and not "muddy" like it is in pro tools. I have tried limiters and that's not what I'm getting at...

Given that Pro Tools uses AAX/RTAS while the others use VST, there is no way they could be the same VI.

I'm sure plugin manufacturers try to make their AAX/RTAS and VST plugins sound the same, but there are always going to be some differences...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

What exact version of Pro Tools are you running?

What are the exact titles and versions of the VIs you are running?
