Default Waveform problem

I'm recording an audio track and instead of a clean looking waveform, I'm getting block-ish looking regions. It's not a waveform at all.

To me this looks like a very high zoom in combination with a very large waveform-view. Try pressing alt+cmd+[ several times.

Awesome that took care of it, thanks! The most annoying things in PT have the simplest solutions usually.

double clicking the Magnifying Glass tool will rest height and zoom out to the first and last bits in the Time Line

this is one of many reasons I like the single use mode of the tool

The only thing is, every time I record new audio I have to zoom out of the waveform to make it look normal. It becomes a hassle to have to zoom out every region each time.
