Never heard about this!

55W for an HD IO or a 192 Digital seems reasonable since the old Adat Bridges drained 30W.
Thanks.
Remember that these current figures are for 110-120 VAC input; 220-240 VAC figures will be half or less current draw.

I'm just dropping in to remind everyone to keep it civil. Every reported posted takes time out of my day that I could be helping someone or getting something else done. So, for the sake of everyone, err on the side of 'be nice'.

Thank you for listening.

Thank you for checking in.
I know this is old, but there's still nothing I can find at Avid.com, so can you answer the question and I'll do the math and see if my UPS needs replacement.

Link or answer please: What is the power consumption for an Avid HD I/O 16x16?

A couple of points...

On an earlier thread about Mac Pro's & Video Cards & HDX cards, BigMeany (in response to one of my posts) stated "Pro power supply is 980 Watts". And keep in mind that's the PSU's output power, its current draw is somewhat higher, which would easily put it at 10 A/120 VAC.

Point number two...

Despite what some might believe, not everyone lives in the United States.

Mr. Costa lives in Brazil, which, while hardly a third-world country, may well not have the (virtually) unlimited electrical power at a reasonable cost that we enjoy here in the US.

So, while a rough guess, with the ''Take it back and get the more expensive ones" (Valley Girls) option we enjoy here in the US may be okay for us, in some parts of the world a couple of amps may make the difference between having a studio in a certain location and having no studio at all.

[rant on]Which is why it would be really nice if people put accurate location information in their profiles. It allows us to give you more appropriate and useful information...after all, a suggestion to "swing by Guitar Center" is probably not going to be very useful to someone who lives in Kenya.[/rant on]

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Power is amps*volts so if you double volts you naturally have less amps, power itself does not change.
