Default Room Acoustics

Hello Folks,

I did treat my room with traps and foam etc ...

Now what's the best way to test the room acoustics ?

RoomEQ is not working on my Mac ....

I watched an impressive way that can be done within Ableton Live (after placing the measuring mic in the listening position) you get to use some frequency analysis plugin and get a frequency chart ...

Anyway this can be done within Pro Tools ?

SMAART and SpectraFoo are 2 "pro" options. You can also do it "the old fashioned" way. Call up the signal generator plugin, sit in your normal mix position(with a pad a pencil handy) and set the frequency at 500 Hz(since most room issues will be in the lower frequencies), set a comfortable volume, and then start nudging the freq lower in small increments. Whenever you hear a perceived volume change, make a note of the freq. and by how much(either with a measurement mic and a meter, a DB meter, or just your own perceived change, like -a little or +a lot) and work the freq all the way down to 32-40Hz. Knowing the exact response is certainly preferred, but simply knowing where lumps and holes are, is still valuable knowledge. If you feel you want to measure from 500Hz up, go for it(but keep the level around 80-85db or where earplugs or headphones to save your ears.....and your sanity)

Have you look at this?

http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/v...1#.UyxQTYXgO4I

It worked fine for my room and it's a useful monitor controller as well.
