Tempo map problem - please help
I'm importing tempo maps from a Pro Tools session that is 29.97NDF, recorded at 44.1k pulled down into a session that is 29.97NDF 96k non-pulled down.
When I do this, Bar 1 shifts in relation to SMPTE. For example in the pull down session, Bar 1 is at 4:11:38:00, but in the non-pull down session Bar 1 shifts to 4:11:37:09. I know the cause is the audio pull down, because if I change to pull down in the 96k session everything lines up. I can slide the tempo map so that Bar 1 starts at the right place, but there is still drift that happens from that point on, i.e. the tempo maps drift apart as you go thru the session. This is with a 6.4cs8 HD Accel 3 system. Any simple way to avoid this? |

Re: Tempo map problem - please help
Why is the session you're importing into not pulled down? What is the final delivery format?

Re: Tempo map problem - please help
Good question - the session could be done at 96k pulled down, but the engineer specified 96k. We're going to be mixing thru an analog console, so there's no strict sample rate requirement. Nevertheless, we are at 96k.
