Default Lack of samples in Plug-ins?

Hey, I just installed pro tools on my new mac book pro and it works fine. However, when i went to install the plug-ins, they didn't work. I dug around on this site and found out about the updates for the intel based computeres, and it helped; I can now access the plug-ins in pro tools. But one problem remains, there are no samples in the plug-ins. I tried installing the plug-ins from the CDs that came with the ignition pack and then downloaded and installed the updates from the digidesign website, but it still won't work. Can anyone help? I'm sure it's just some simple mistake that i overlooked. By the way, the only plug-ins i've tried are BFD and Sampletank 2. I'm using a digi 002 factory and a mac book pro 2.0 ghz intel core duo with 1.5 G of ram. Thanks!

Can someone please help me? I've tried everything. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Digidesign, any pointers?

HI,

I don´t have those plugs but worked with older Sampletanks.

My guess is that you need to point the plug-ins to the right sample directory on your HD.

Manually check if there are sample libraries on your CDs and maybe copy them manually to a place on your HD.

OR search your HD for those libraries. they should be somewhere.

Hi,

Your Bfd samples should be in macHD/Library/bfd-lite...there must be some way to set bfd to look for the samples in this location in pro tools (i guess that it defaults to looking for them there, so maybe if you just move them there?)

sampletank should be in machd/applications/ik multimedia/sample tank 2 se

within this location there will be more folders containing all the soundsets.

Might be an idea to trash your preferences in before rebooting protools and also verifying your hd in system utilities (check the general troubleshooting sticky at the top of this board for more indepth info)

hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. I checked and both plug-ins samples were in their correct places. In sampletank I found a way to import samples, but of course, i can't do that with the SE version... I don't know what else to do... I'm going to try those other tips right now, hopefully it will help.

Sweet, I got BFD to work... Not really sure how I did it, but when i opened pro tools after i had quit, it told me to find the samples, and i did, and it worked. Now i just have to figure out how to do the Sampletank samples...
