Bnr
Hello,
I desperately need the BNR noise-reduction plugin for Version 11. This one plugin was the reason for option for a Master Toolkit (or something similarly named). What are the plans with this plug-in? thank you |

Re: Bnr
There are no plans to update DINR (Broadband Noise Reduction) to AAX 64-bit:
Avid 64-bit AAX Plug-ins for Pro Tools 11 So you would need to use it in Pro Tools 10 (the Pro Tools 10 license is included with the Pro Tools 11 license). |

Re: Bnr
Thanks, Bruce. But I'm still confused. Clearly, version 10 is a temporary solution. What does one do for noise reduction past that point? Are you saying Avid is abandoning noise reduction altogether, or is there an alternative plugin I can use?

Re: Bnr
There are many great noise reduction plugins by 3rd parties, and they left BNR in the dust years ago. Avid should have retired it sooner.
Izotope RX is very popular. Waves has several different types, as well as Sonnox, and some others. |

Re: Bnr
nst7 is so right, DINR is one of the oldest PT-plugs I know. I used it in the mid 90s in Sound Designer 2. There are many much better alternatives. I personally like the Izotope RX most.
You will forget DINR/BNR very fast... Best Mark
