I can prove that I paid $700.00 for my watch in numerous ways.
If I lose it, I'm SOL unless it's insured.
At least with losing an iLok you have a chance (albeit a slim chance) to get mercy from the vendors of the licenses.
I'd get no such chance at mercy from my jewler.
And that's an "apples to apples" comparison.

there is no way to stop it from working on a system that needs the licences that are on it unless the "user" tries to connect it to iLok.com
