in the usa it costs 245 us dollars. thats equivalent to exactly 205,20 €!?!? in digistore it´s offered for 254,10 € -- aaahhhmmmm - why do we have to pay 59 USD more than americans???? if it was because of shipping-costs, i would unstand but it´s just a download or not?

You are right but all the companies are at it. Symantec sell Antivirus as a download on their US site for $49.95 and on their UK site for £49.95, given the current exchange rate that's nearly double! It is outrageous and is a way US based companies can recoup profits from outside the US whilst the dollar is so low. My only advice which is perfectly legal is to get a friend in the USA to pay for it on their credit card and then download it yourself. Sadly because they are US based they are not covered by European legislation which forbids companies from restricting trade across national barriers.

1. We do pay purchase tax in the UK it's called VAT @ 17.5%
2. That is irrelavant, the question is how can a product cost significantly more in Europe than the USA? Take a product for $200 that in the UK is £112.86 even if you add the VAT on that still only makes it £133.00 that's a 50% difference! Or to put it the other way if you paid the same price in dollars for a £200.00 upgrade that would cost you in the USA $355!

So the question is are the US buyers getting it at cost price or are the rest of the world paying through the nose?

From Digistore PLUS is 210 €. Compared to $245, it seems to be about right.
