One that I absolutely love is "Bootsy's Rubber Band - Live in Louisville '78". One of the greatest live albums of all time if you ask me.

"Stand!" by Sly and the Family Stone is another of my favourites (I actually think "There's a riot going on" is a bit overrated).

"Everything is everything" by Donny Hathaway is a must-get for anyone into funkateering. Has to be one of the best laid-back-funk-albums ever.

Aaah... it's a good one... certain Curtis stuff can somtimes feel a bit to well-organized for me. But I absolutely love "Superfly".

Also, if you are into more outrageous funk stuff, I have to mention Jimmy Castor Bunch.

Sly is great. How about Average White Band, Mother's Finest, Isleys and Kool and the Gang, or even Edgar Winter.

A band out of Charleston, S.C. called UNCLE MINGO

Sax player used to hopa round on the stage on a pogo stick and still do a killer solo.

Just good ole' southern fun-k!

They are no longer, but here is a link to there stuff

UNCLE MINGO

-Doc

PLUS! The hola hoop contest was always a blast. Nothing beats a drunk college girl on stage trying to impress.....
