96i Not Recognised by PT 9
OS X.6.7 Snow Leopard, Pro-Tools 9.0.3, 96i HD (firmware up to date)
I installed the HD Drivers from Avid. I see the PCI Core Audio in the "Audio Midi setup" mac utility. I can have sound output through the OS, watching youtube for example. But I can't see it in the "Playback engine" of Pro-Tools. I cleared all preferences, tried multiple reinstall in different orders (Drivers, then 9.02 update, Drivers again ;-), 9.03 update) so on... No luck... Visible and working, but not in Pro-Tools, not very useful... Any ideas ? Thanks ! |

Re: 96i Not Recognised by PT 9
Nevermind... Facepalm...
I only had a Pro Tools 9 licence, no Pro Tools HD 9. I thought once you plugged HD hardware in your machine it would switch to HD. Now they tell me I bought Pro Tools 9 (standard) for nothing. Apparently you can't upgrade from 9 to 9 HD, anyway that's what they told me on the phone. So I had to surrender an old PT 8 HD licence I had in order to pay the 350$ to upgrade to PT 9 HD. Now it works, but I'm wondering what someone would need to do in order to have Pro Tools 9 HD if you have no prior HD licence to surrender and you bought used IO hardware that did not come with any licence. Confusing stuff if you ask me... |
