This sounds more like hardware failure - you should contact tech support by phone and choose option 3 for repairs (it's no charge).

you know this isn't a "good" answer but i had the same problem. i read a lot of posts where people were having the same trouble, followed by very intelligent responses from individuals explaining how to better optimize the system. i was kind of reprimanded for using a toy computer :) -rightly so. BUT...

these mbox 3's have been having problems and i hate it when a person is told to upgrade (buy something more expensive) their system because of a pro tools interface error. luckily i bought mine from sweetwater so once i explained the trouble i was having they sent me another free. that's why i buy from them. i think it came down to an mbox3 firmware issue that can't be resolved by someone on my end. i can't say i know that for sure but i had a deadline i missed and time lost because there was a problem with hardware i paid good money for. instead of getting customer support i was scolded for the system i was using. btw, for what i do, the system works fine - now that i have a PTLE mbox that is functionsl. it's a shame because there are so many brilliant and helpful souls on this site, but all the warnings posted about what won't work with PTLE should have been plastered to all the ads. i would have done something else. i love PT but avid should take a handful of money and throw into a better customer service dept.

sorry for the rant, but if you are having a problem with the mbox, send it back to avid and demand a replacement or a refund. don't spend money upgrading anything unless you were going to anyway. i sincerely hope you can get it worked out.

ranting ceased,
Attiqus out.

Right on man...Yea I know its not my computer, it's a brand new imac 27 3.2 i3...not the fastest iMac, but PLENTY FAST for what I do at home. I have a Mac Pro Quad Xeon with a 003 running at my actual studio, and I love PT, but I am just sooo tired of the problems with compatibility/hardware.

Admin--OK thanks I am calling you guys when I get home from work to see about getting a replacement Mbox.
