I'm kinda in the middle on this... as in it would be a feature IF you have a new system with the latest OS of any strain and yet to invest in a new DAW where a particular DAW supported where others may not, to where you already own the DAW and your OS for whatever reason needs to update to fix it own issues. Which is no real fault of either the OS or DAW simply by the fact that they work independently of each other for their particular market. I am of the belief that as a user and a loyal user over time should be rewarded with a loyalty something of having their DAW function for a time or some other bonus (prolly why there are different upgrade rates) in the end you cant get everything free they do have to finance R&D and fix problems R&D has essentially created.

The old if your DAW and OS work with no issues do you really need to upgrade? is there going to be a fundamental increase to your ability to create what you already do by being able to search you plugin list a few seconds faster than someone did in versions previous.... he say's just as the latest update is installed... but then read my post above.... this update might actually fix an issue I'm having. Otherwise to my mind I'm a muso PT to me is a tool for me to express myself.... when my subscription runs out PT doesn't stop working or works any less than the last update.... and failing the subscriptions for the plugins section at about AUS$30-40 per year, nothing changes.

Ultimately unless there are particular features in coming version that particularly interest you there is prolly no real benefit in upgrading to or going out and buying the latest just because... its the latest.... then have to deal with getting everything working how it should and less time creating.

What about when they un-qualify your old OS and you can't buy a new system that doesn't require a new un-qualified OS?

but that doesn't instantly stop everything from working.... just mean you have to upgrade to a newer sys if you want to or need to move ahead to a later version of whatever.

Put "now compatible with the OS which was retired 2 1/2 months ago" on a software's *New Features* list and see how many customers laugh.

It is by no means a "feature" with additional functionality -- it is, however, precisely the "regular maintenance update" that we were promised. It's best to call it what it is.

ALERT: macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6 now supported on Pro Tools 2018.12
Pro Tools 2018.12 includes fixes that resolve the performance problems that were occurring
at lower buffer sizes on macOS High Sierra versions 10.13.4-10.13.6. If you are unable to run
Pro Tools 2018.12, and you must use 10.13.4-10.13.6. then make sure to avoid lower buffer
sizes (64 samples or lower at 48kHz, 128 samples or lower at 96kHz, 256 samples at 192kHz)

So better download the new update..... if this is fixed I will be a happy lil chappy in a crappyless nappy..

but no the problem is still there........ 512 samples @ 48k

Guys ... I feel this release isn't as snappy as the previous ones (10.13.3 and Pro Tools .7)

One more thing, is there a way to disable this shadow thing whenever I move a clip ? I feel it kinds of causes a lag and make graphics look slow ... I cannot move the clip seamlessly even in slip mode ... the clip feels a bit jumpy when dragging it horizontally .. I don't know if you get what I mean ... but is there a way to fasten this ?

Guys,

I am still on PT HDN 11.3.2 and the Midi multiple Interfaces work, there are not enough differences betweene PT 11 and PT 2018.12 to pay theses thousands
of € to update. And I do not like to throw my money out of the window!
Avid can deliver some nice new features, and then, after some time, I perhaps will think about updating. Avid is working for us and not the other way round.
If they cannot deliver, it΄s sad but it΄s their problem! By the way there are better/cheaper DAWs out there with better companies behind.

best regards

Mr.O

View>Clip>Overlap Shadows.

I can't see any difference with shadows on or off, but that's where you enable/disable them.

Thanks for the tip ! I meant that when I drag clips or zoom the track vertically I kind of feel that the movement is jumpy and not smooth and snappy ... I got an iMac pro running here ...
