Default Problems in PT 12.7 and Sierra 10.12.3

Hi guys, new to the forum and have looked around to see if others having the same problems... can't find these.

My main problem is running out of CPU much earlier than before (PT 11.3 in Mountain Lion) in both PT 12 and 11. The hardware is Symphony I/O.

The other strange thing I have is in PT 12: when opening a session from PT 11 it creates a lot of (maybe 30-40) empty playlists, of which maybe 10-15 you can't inactivate in the track list (but you can filter them out).

Could it be Sierra 10.12.3 that is the problem in both cases?

I have tried to downgrade to 10.12.1 but I'm not a very good hacker so haven't found the actual OS, only updates ...

Anybody experience similar things?

Happy for input, thanks!

___
Mac Pro (2012)
macOS Sierra 10.12.3
Pro Tools 12.7 and HD 11.3
Apogee Symphony I/O

Anybody thinks it´s a good idea to downgrade to .1 instead of having .3?

I´ve seen some (a few?) of you are using 10.12.3 and 12.7 without problem.

Thanks.

Either downgrade to supported operating system or wait for a PT release that works with your system

Thanks Janne, yeah sounds right. The old system is running fine, but the good old Mountain Lion is getting really old.

If the good old ML computer can handle PT12, just create a clean install of Sierra to an external drive and see how it works. If it does, you can clone it to your internal.

10.6.8 was the greatest OSX. They need an update just like that, where the focus is entirely on performance and efficiency, and take a break from trying to cram more iOS **** into it.

"Greatest" is a subject opinion. Someone else could say the latest is the greatest because of the features that are missing from Snow Leopard. But with that said; IMO, the greatest COMBINATION of OSX and PT was 10.6.8 & 8.1.1
