In the off chance that someone is having this issue too and is following this thread, after reading that Eddie has the same configuration as me and isn't seeing this layout problem, I reloaded my S6 software and the problem seems to have disappeared. It was intermittent anyway so I can't say for sure that this fixed it but I'm not seeing it at the moment. Eddie verified the layout files I was using were OK so it seems to have been something weird in my particular s/w load.

Yes, but it's slow. I mean it's fine for what it is, but on almost any live console, you have a very fast way to temp group/link/gang channels so all their parameters are linked up until you cancel the multi-selection. This, I think could speed up our workflow on the S6.

I see your point .

Funny....We were talking about how we could do this yesterday! I would like to think we could make it a surface feature so that you could link across multiple sessions. It would have to be similar to the S5 linking in operation too. The Joystick Module has a dedicated link button for this very purpose.(not implemented yet though)

If you hold down SHIFT and press any of the numeric buttons you will see that it shows 4 Page functions in a row. Simply touch one of these Page rectangles and choose a page to jump to for each one. We don't yet have comprehensive options for each zone - but we are working on increasing the functionality.

P.S. S6 Version 2.1 adds the ability to Save and Load SoftKey sets which is fantastic when you start tweaking, and customizing sets like this. That way it is easy to get back to factory and load different versions of your own SoftKeys.

OK I'm getting well into this!!!! You mention you're working on increasing the functionality here. Will I lose whatever changes/additions to sofkeys and softkey pages I make now if changes are made in the future?

By the way... It would be great if you could copy and paste softkeys and softkey pages. Any chance of this happening?

If you made changes you can save them as a set (XML) and switch between the new and other sets. My recommendation would be to save multiple sets of your working Softkeys and then compare them with the changes that we are introducing in 2.2. Yes, we have certainly heard the request to easily copy and paste entire pages so I will register your need for it once again.

Yes I'm constantly saving the XML files!

Is there a release date for 2.2? Can't wait!

No official date yet but most features are done just a lot of tidying up and bug fixing now. Beta in a couple of weeks hopefully.
We definitely want to improve the Softkey workflows once we get through the current backlog, At least in v2.2 new Softkeys are automatically named now ;-)

Cool! It will save a LOT of time not having to name a softkey!

I know I probably should have waited for 2.2 but impatience got the better of me.

I've done my own Appset of softkeys and I'm in heaven!!! I already loved my S6 but now I'm completely besotted! My workflow has sped up no end and my RSI has improved dramatically. An unexpected bonus!

It does take a lot of work but a huge chunk of it was in the preparation. At first I just waded into the Softkey editor and soon realised this isn't the way to go. Over the course of a couple of weeks, I wrote down the functions I was using most in PT. Key commands etc. Then I worked out where to put everything on a spreadsheet. A bit geeky but productive.

I'm now only one page away from everything I need and have added a "Home" softkey to everything that instantly pages me back to my main page of softkeys. Bliss!!!!

If I have to do it all again in 2.2 at least I know what I'm going to do and EUCON commands will be auto named.

P.S. Can you guys add "Hide Pro Tools" to the list of EUCON commands?
P.P.S. I was hoping to assign my most used Audiosuite plug-ins to softkeys. You can't do this. Pre the S6, I used to use Keyboard Maestro and assigned QWERTY keyboard commands to the AS plug-ins I used the most. Does anyone know if Keyboard Maestro and EUCON would clash with each other? The S6 has otherwise made Keyboard Maestro redundant.
