Digi...please fix the lost of channel Matrix in PT8

Dear Digi,

There is a EOSS for the PPC Mac's. PT 8.0.1 will be the last supported release.
In a previous post you wrote thet the fix for the matrix bug will be in the next non-cs update. I use a G5 DP and a ProControl. Is there a chance that I can use my hardware (with Leopard) with a working matrix on PT8?

Or do I have to spend a couple of thousands to get the matrix working, by buying an Intel Mac and exchange my cards?

Maybe working with snow leopard too...

I understand that PC is a ghost but there's non middle hardware choices among DIGi catalogue for budget studios.

I don't need 24 channels, i like che 8 channel format, but i can't really upgrade to D-command and Command 8 is really cheap, so why not let us work with Pro Control Functionality, fixing the couple of issuses you know and no more additional features.

I just got an used Pro Control for this pourpose...

Wasted moneys as i understand, but i assure you i can't upgrade to a more new controller... and the upgrade path doesn't involve C24 that i suppose you consider a middle class product.

So your focus are only big studios, are you shure? maybe i'm not the only one...



Hoping all this will be only a nightmare and i will wake up sooner...

Same here, G5 with PC.

So, is there any news by now, if we will get a final working version of PT8 for PPC based systems?

I would really like to upgrade to PT8 but I am not willing to spend money on changing my cards to PCI-e, but rather save it for future hardware releases.

Yes, it is being worked on now. We don't have a release date yet (and pending testing of course), but it looks like the ProControl channel matrix bug is a priority item for the next CS update for Pro Tools 8.0.1. Which means that while we are not able to guarantee an unreleased fix beforehand, it does have a high probability of being fixed sooner rather than later.
