Thinking about a new G5?

This may be old news to some of you but if you are eyeing a shiny new G5, wait until January.

I just talked to the Apple rep and our local CompUSA and he told me that come Jan. the prices on the G5s are going to drop dramatically. For example, the baseline model will sell for around $1600 and the upper models will also be dropping.

So save that holiday money.

No doubt prices will drop because Steve Jobs will announce new, faster G5's at the MacWorld Expo in San Fran (I heard rumors of up to 3 Ghz). So yes you can get the 'shiny new G5' at current speeds for less, or wait and get more for the same amount of cash.

Nothing quite like a 6 month product cycle, huh?

Know what you mean... Me and my Mac Classic are just waiting 'till (January/June take your pick) 200(x).... for the brand new G(x)

Just love the regular "business" response... "well if it makes you more money then buy it now"....

Seriously 'though 2006 does look to be a sensible year to go G5, PT6, Panther, on holiday
