Use Macrium Reflect 6 Free to back up your system so you can easily restore to your previous operating system in case you have issues. Or use separate drives.

Cheers,

Having a backup plan is ALWAYS a good idea. I had PT10 running nicely on Windows 7, but I wanted to try 12.3(for all the cool new features). My safety net was simple. I just removed the system drive and set it aside and popped in a spare hard drive. Installed Windows 8.1 and as soon as it was finished, I updated to Windows 10. Then ran a few tweaks, installed the newest Mbox2 Pro driver, installed PT12.3 and did some initial testing. Its running great, so now I am on to installing the rest of my plugins(with a drive image to be done shortly).

I ran friggin' PT9 on a W10 laptop without any issues, now it's up to 11.3.2 and still running fine. One nice thing about Windows is that it's much more forgiving with running older software versions. Screw these yearly OSX version updates, I'm about to just move everything over to a W10 install and call it a day.
