Default Automation Error or problem with Control Surfaces

I have a strange problem in PT HD 9.0.2 on Mac with Command 8.

I was mixing a track for the third time, to make some adjustments. the two runs before went ok, then i had this problem.

I have a vocal audio track and an Aux-track. On the Aux-Track i use Doubler to make the voice bigger in the chorus. So i have done Mute-Automation on the Aux track to only play in Chorus, and i have volume automation on the Vocal track. Suddenly at the third run i have noticed that i had no sound from the Aux-track, but the meter showed signal flowing through the track. When i just touched the fader on this Aux track, the audio was audible again instantly, but then after a few seconds died again. This could be reproduced repeatedly. Id did not matter if i touched the fader on the Command 8 or klick on it with the mouse. I could not get it to work again, i even restarted PT without success. I helped myself by finally writing Volume automation to the Aux-track itself by simply touching the faders in chorus and let go in between (well, in between it was muted anyway) Then i did not get this behaviour again.

I had this once in the past if i remember correctly. I had just bought the MC Control from Euphonics and had some other issues as well, so i thougth the problem lies with the MC Control and maybe Eucon (wrong guess as it turned out). Now i have a Command 8.

Does anyone else experienced this, too ? Really scary that a track is not played like it should, makes me a little concerned about reliability of PT. Of course usually someone hears if a track is not played, but i don't really want to check for that all the time and concentrate on other things in the mix.

Regards
Bertrand
