Default Midi Piano Sustain Disappearing

Hey Everybody,
Protools is doing some things with midi that I cant figure out.
I am recording midi on a stereo instrument track using my keyboard.
I have a sustain peddle attached to the keyboard and I'm using it through out
the whole piece. Everything sounds good and plays back fine until I try to trim up the recorded midi at beginning and end where there is no data. When ever I try do this my piano sustain on the recording disappears. Whatup wit dat?

Default Re: Midi Piano Sustain Disappearing

It happens often because of some RAM overload!
Don't worry, it's only a process issue, the instrument samples don't fully load.
So...
Save your instrument settings, remove it then Reload it!
It often fixes this issue.
It happens often to me using MiniGrand.
I hope it will work for you.
Gd luck.

Default Re: Midi Piano Sustain Disappearing

I'm not sure if that's what simpke is asking. I too have this problem with midi data on an instrument track, using my keyboard controller and sustain pedal - punch recording, editing, etc. It could be any type of plug-in (piano, organ, synth, etc.), it's just the way it's writing the midi information. Afterward, I have to go in and fix the sustain, pitchwheel, etc., automation info manually. Is there a way around this? The real problem is when punch recording a keyboard part and the sustain is stuck in either poisition. I usually end up using multiple playlists to record, then manual editing later.
