Default Creation Station Pro

I am looking to switch/upgrade my computer system and am torn. I currently use a Apple eMac G4 1.42GHz, 80GB HD, Tiger OS x 10.4, 160GB external HD, MBox 2, LIVE 5, Reason 3.0.

I switched from a PC back in July 2005, because my computer kept crashing (using org. MBox). I am now looking to upgrade from the MBox 2, to the DIGI 002 in 3 weeks because my production has picked up and I need equipment that can place me over the top, but staying within the Protools LE system/Price range. I want/need a computer that will be worth invetesting in for the long haul. My 3 choices are:

1.) Apple iMac G5 2.1
2.) Creation Station Pro (Sweetwater)
3.) Terra Digitalaudio M4

I would greatly apprechate informitive feedback from the community and I thank you all in advance for your help in this matter.

V/R and Sincerly,
LaForest Gray

I second the Sweetwater system.
I have one of their pre-Creation Station models as well.
I've been VERY happy with it.
And yes, their service is EXCELLENT. To me it was worth spending the extra dough, knowing that if something goes wrong they'll make it right.

My sales guy over there, Paul Allen, has excellent knowledge of PTLE and computers.
His phone is 800-222-4700 ext. 1318

Mine has a 3.4 P4, 80 gig OS, 200 gig audio, and 120 gig BFD drive.

I'm running 2.5 Gigs of RAM, mainly because of my BFD program, which is nearly 60 gigs itself.

That machine you're looking at should do very nicely for you.

With PT 7 especially.

I had PT 7 installed with some other upgrades, and while I haven't gotten the computer back yet (it's due today), the tech at Sweetwater told me he got 32+88 on the Dave C.

If I ever say I need more power than that, please put a bullet in my head.

Ejwells,

Once agin thanks for the feedback and the information, I have been doing a ton of research today
(about 12hrs. worth) along with talking off and on with my Sweetwater rep. Bob Mondok about the Creation Station Pro 3.2Ghz, which I will be ordering in 3 wks with a extra gig & 1/2 to get it up to 2.5 gigs when I recieve it.

I'll be just be running ProTools 7.0, LIVE 5, Reason 3.0 using my KORG microKONTROL.

I'm trying to decided to operate 2 or 3 19" monitors, I think I will just start with 2 and add the 3rd one in 3 to 6 months.

Ejwells, what is "32+88 on the Dave C."?

Once again thanks for your help.

P.S.

Anyone interested in an Apple eMac G4, 1.42GHz, 1gig RAM(max), Tiger OS X 10.4.1, 80GB HD, purchased 09/01/2005 from CompUSA, all original software and packing. Asking $650.00 or best offer.
If so please e-mail me at:

I have the base model Creation Station and I love it. I not only bought my computer from Sweetwater, but my 002 Bundle from them as well. Their customer service is awesome. Second all of the above.

the Dave C is a stress test. Most the guys at Sweetwater know about it, and they'll happily do one for you when you have your computer configured by them.

I'm not certain where the link is, but some helpful soul will post it here I'm sure.

I have 2 19" Monitors, and haven't yet found a need to add another, but I guess more is more.

Keep us posted when you get that computer. Sounds like a great machine.
