my buddy is a UA fan, but the damn card fills up so quickly, does not perform how I would like...
now if the latency figures are as bad as some say, i dont see any point in running with 'em...

their Tube Pre-amps are wicked though

Delays introduced after the channel fader manifest themselves as a delay in response time on a control surface.

Delay does matter.

Thanks guys

The Apollo is not really what I am after because I am forced into using the Apollo converters and native pro tools (limited to 32 io etc)

It would be great to have Apollo hd which can interface with hd converters and hd native card to offer Apollo benefits with the higher quality io and higher io counts etc

Yes, and then you are back to square one - you have an HDX system that cannot run uad plugins ...... etc

Why can't everybody just get along?

Default Universal audio will NOT do AAX dsp!

Because they don't have to "get along". They just need to meet customer need and make money, getting along may be a part of that to varying amounts. There is already more stuff out there for people to use, and get the job done today than you can shake a stick at, so pick your tools and get going. Vendors can do whatever they want and the market will decide. UAD picked their segment/game, and do a pretty good job of it (even if I personally wished they had full AAX-native plugins coming (no DSP needed)).

Tom, which facility(s) in particular in Los Angeles are running HDX?
