LOGIC PRO with PRO TOOLS HARDWARE
Hey everyone. I am running Logic Pro 7.2.3 with Pro Tools HD Hardware. It's really sluggish and unstable.
Do you think Logic will be snappier and more stable with a couple Motu 828MKII's? I record, mix and edit in Pro Tools but I'm wondering if for my Logic sequencing set up if that would be better? |

Re: LOGIC PRO with PRO TOOLS HARDWARE
Logic's implementation of tdm hardware is less than a joke... Someone ought to sue apple for making false statements about compatibility..... Logic natively is another story, I find it to be very reliable... So getting some motu or other hardware for logic is definitely the right route to take if you want logic to be your daw

Re: LOGIC PRO with PRO TOOLS HARDWARE
Especially if you paid for the upgrade to Logic 7.2 ...only to find out that it didn't do much good
Logic seems to run well with an RME Fireface 800 and a powerfull G5. Sometimes I wonder if I'd be as happy with a setup like that...instead of my PT rig

Re: LOGIC PRO with PRO TOOLS HARDWARE
I run Logic and PT on the same computer, Logic into an Ensemble and PT through HD2Accel into a pair of Rosettas, all clocked by Big Ben. I usually start in Logic and move to PT at some point, mostly for compatibility reasons. When both are running (they are not synced) my controller surface (Mackie Uni) is unhappy so I shut it off, and there are occasional midi issues (notes sounding from PT when I'm working in Logic) that are easy to avoid. Both are very stable, both sound great. Very handy to bounce files offline out of Logic and bring into PT. I spent a few years running Logic on top of PT via esb and it was painful.

Re: LOGIC PRO with PRO TOOLS HARDWARE
Thanks so much guys. Just realized that I forgot to say that it is running on a dual 2.7 G5 with 4gb of ram so it's got nothing to do with my processing power.
