Default its not me, its the LE talking...

Hello there,

I have been experiencing a problem for some time with the Mbox2 Pro being recognised by my macbook pro system. I am running Pro tools 8 which came with the MBox2 Pro Factory bundle. The Mbox LED is always flashing stating unrecognised from the software when going to launch.

At times it has worked but very shortly afterward it will again say unable to recognise, I have tried restarting and disconnecting, using the power supply adapter or just the firewire cable independently and reinstalling…

I did notice recently that there was two icons in the system preferences tray, one for mbox2 pro and another for mbox2 pro factory, i removed the mbox2 pro leaving the factory and still had no joy…. i have now removed both to see if the firmware can reset but nothing…

Sorry for the very long message, it is difficult to explain, I have tried a lot of solutions from other peoples thread on this forum and other ones but still can not seem to resolve.

If anybody can offer some help or guidance I will be very appreciative, this has been bought from new months ago and still not been used, I really want to get set up and running.

Operating System - OSX Version 10.6 Snow Leopard
Pro Tools Version 8.0
MacBook Pro 2.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo - Memory 2 GB MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Thank you in advance.

You need at least OSX 10.6.2 and PT 8.0.3 to run Pro Tools in Snow Leopard.

Doubling up on your RAM wouldn't be a terrible idea, either.
