Default Revised Pricing for CPTK to PT HD Upgrades

Hi folks,

After considering your feedback, Avid is pleased to announce revised pricing for Complete Production Toolkit customers who wish to upgrade to Pro Tools HD 11 software. The pricing now matches the standard Pro Tools HD 11 software upgrade pricing.

Customers will be able to purchase these upgrades from the Avid store when Pro Tools 11 software is available for sale later in Q2:

Price (US MSRP)
PRO TOOLS 10 + CPTK to PRO TOOLS HD 11 $599
PRO TOOLS 9 + CPTK to PRO TOOLS HD 11 $999

Again, thanks for your input and commitment to the Pro Tools platform. We're committed to serving you.

Additional Info from the Avid Store, prices are USD :

Thanks Tony,
Will we be able to upgrade to next Pro Tools version without Avid hardware?

Best regards
Johan

Hi Johan,

As I've said before, keeping Pro Tools software open has been key to the strategy since PT9 and remains so today. We have no plans to close off future versions of Pro Tools to work only with Avid hardware, nor do we have plans to force customers with Pro Tools HD software to upgrade to hardware.

Thanks,
Tony

Thanks much for taking this issue into consideration.

I do have a quick question regarding those who may have CPTK assets that may not show registration in their Avid accounts. Will the upgrade to PT 11HD require just the simple CPTK iLok asset surrender?

Yes, that will suffice for eligibility.

Well, I was asked to compile a list, and to allow Avid time to answer them. There is nothing in those questions that wasn't already posted in the main CPTK thread, or the main student thread. All I did was eliminate duplicates, splice related issues together into overarching questions, and put the questions in context by providing a supporting commentary, again based on what had been said in the relevant DUC threads.

Posting the questions will simply open the door for the thread in question to be undermined by anyone who thinks those questions shouldn't be asked in the first place, and who, for whatever reason, either doesn't want them answered, or simply gets a cheap thrill from antagonising those that do want an answer.

As and when Marianna, or other Avid people, have answered all the questions that they can, or are allowed to, then I'll post up whatever remains outstanding.

How will we know when that point is reached. Well, I'll be prodding Marianna from time to time to ask for a status update.

Hi Tony,

This may be a question to start another thread.

Are there any plans of offering a Pro Tools HD Native upgrade path to Pro Tools users without the CPTK?

I would definitely be interested in purchasing Pro Tools HD software without having to purchase HD Hardware.

Thanks
