Re: Which motherboard/processor for pci cards?
I'm having success with an ASUS P7P55D with i7 860 processor that I built about nine or ten months ago. Running the lastest PT HD8 update on Windows 7 32 bit. Small complaint is that I haven't found the needed cable to run firewire to the front of my case, and no FW800. It's been running well for long sessions with very few problems, no problems with the latest software update.
Three PCI cards and enough PCIe for my use. www.SweetbriarRecording.com www.ThompsonMusicRental.com Mark Nashville |

it has been reported here several times that the non-LE versions of this board have a larger heatsink that gets in the way of the HD card's extra "fins" in one of the PCI slots? or are you running HD2, not HD3?

Re: Which motherboard/processor for pci cards?
No issues. Everything works great. I only have 2 cards in there, but I'll be putting a third one in soon. I can't think of a single problem I've had. Tons of RTAS power. I am really happy with the system. All my plugins work, too.

Re: Which motherboard/processor for pci cards?
I just did the the gigabyte p55 ud3l like inteldoc. . 875k 8GB running great with PTHD4.
You do have to dremel the heatsink on the southbridge but it's pretty easy. Very happy with this machine, super stable and fast. |

Re: Which motherboard/processor for pci cards?
I wanted to go with the Intel DH55HC motherboard but I need 2 PCI-e slots for my monitors.
I have my eyes on the P7P55DLE but wanted to confirm that it would fit in an HD3 system (3 pci cards). Can anyone confirm? I want to buy it today if it will work
