cannot download valid 9.0.6 (mac)

Checking in... is anyone still unable to install/update PT 9.0.6 with a new Admin Account?

I went ahead and took the chance at updating to 9.0.6.

I only have one admins account on my iMac, so I did not create any new accounts.

I took some system usage readings to use as benchmarks/references. This was one of my concerns from issues I've been reading about in the DUC.

Install went well; smooth, and no issues. When I opened the reference sessions I noticed system usage was higher. Sessions that were at 40%, were now at 52%.

I rebooted, same issue.

I ran the tech support utility and did all 3 options Del Prefs, Databases, and volume .ddb files, in the order shown in the utility. Rebooted, and the sessions were back to their "normal" readings (aprox 40%), so that was a relief.

So far working smooth on 9.0.6

I had the same problem with checksum error. I am on win 7. I have solved it by entering web browser as an administrator (right click browser icon to do so) then downloaded it with no error this time :)

FWIW, I had the install error that ate my PT app. (This is the 9.0.6 installer error after about 10 minutes of installing and "optimizing", NOT the checksum download error.)

Last time this happened to me with a previous point release update, and I made the mistake of contacting tech support who had me clean reinstall my OS for frack's sake.

This time I tried something silly: I launched Time Machine and restored my app to its previous position in the Applications > Digidesign > Pro Tools folder. Ran the installer again (same installer, didn't re-download or anything) and this time it worked. Just launched PT and everything seems to be hunky--About says 9.0.6 and everything. Heck, I just saved myself a day of IT PITA.

And yes, I blame PACE. But then I blame PACE any time anything goes wrong.
