Default CPU spikes

Hello - I get very heavy usage and spiking when I enable record on my two track Pro Tools 12 session when running at 32MS on a Line6 KB37. Exactly the same configuration of two tracks, plug-ins and latency works perfectly fine on Logic Pro X, Studio One, and Reaper. So it can't be the soundcard drivers. I tried some of the workarounds suggested here - privatising spotlight, disabling notifications, fiddling with the options in dynamic processing options etc. in Pro Tools, but the issue remains. It's unusable. So I either swap DAW or get a new interface to run my external preamps into. A maddening dilemma. Anyone else experience the like?

welcome to Pro Tools...
Having said that have you tried putting dither in front of your plug say in slot A and your plug in slot B? That works as a work around on some other plugs...other than that I got nothing.

Can't get it to run smoothly with 32/64 buffer size here either which is something of a bummer when it runs smoothly with the same settings in Ableton and Logic. 128 works for me, but gives a bit too much latency when recording stuff.

Would love to see this improved a bit, feels like PT has really stepped up performance wise with PT11 and PT12, especislly with VI's!
