Default Anyway to mitigate noise reduction artifacts?

I'm stuck mixing lots of material where people are recording themselves and so many of the recordings already have excessive noise reduction applied. Is there anything that can be done to minimize the gating and artifacts that come with over processed recordings? I'm sure the answer is no.

Try the Zynaptiq plugins Unchirp and Unfilter. Sometimes they help...a little.

Agreed. They can do some things that are virtually impossible to replicate any other way. But it's a tough thing to accomplish, so don't expect astounding improvements. I've found that one of the things bad NR does is ramp up the beginnings of a lot of words, so painstaking automation can fix a bit of that.

I would request raw sound files(without their attempts at noise reduction) so you can use better NR plugins. If you can't get that, maybe adding a constant bed of background noise or ambience could help mask some of the problems?

I'm talking about recordings that are processed at the source. For example, interviews recorded via Zoom. Many laptops have built in filters on the mics and it takes an expert to disable them. I'm usually not consulted and am just left t deal with what I get.

I use their D-Reverb. I'll check it out.
I don't expect night and day but just removing a little shade would be nice
