Default Help with hardware set-up input gain

From reading posts it sounds as though -10 Dbv is a fairly common setting say for routing an external compressor, in my case RNC. Is this true? I'm using the digi as a mixer. Secondly, what gain setting is optimal when using inputs 3/4 for sound output from Mac G4.

Most professional outboard gear is +4 or switchable. Check the manual for specs.

For connecting the Mac outputs ot PT inputs set the input sensitivity to -10db.

Remember that only the 1/2 and monitor outs are balanced+4 when connecting outboard gear and dynamics. 3-8 outs are unbalanced -10 only.

Where. Thanks for your reply. I've assigned my korg 03 module, Boss Drum Machine and Digital Piano to +4 dBu and my Mac output (3/4) to -10. Are you saying the input from the RNC compressor to the digi should be set at +4? There are no specs in the manual.

thanks.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Check their website, but my guess would be yes it is +4.
