Which drum program to buy?
Just a question. What would be the best drum program/good drum samples to work with that is reliable and works well with Pro Tools 8.
I record drums and use structure and boom for most projects. But I would like something that sounds great that you can program down to where abouts you are hitting on a snare to how close you are hitting on the hi hat bell etc. Think Alternative/Industrial/Rock style. Cheers. |

Re: Which drum program to buy?
Steven Slate Drums sound GREAT...it's just too bad they use the Kontact player.
Never had any problems with my system 'till I installed Kontact...when I'm using it my system is a little unstable Plus you have to use midi files to trigger it, no built-in player like BFD2, or Strike. For in-depth tweaking, BFD2 is definitely the way to go

I've had no issues with the Kontakt Player 3.5 & SSD. Thankfully

So BFD2 is the way to go it seems. What is the best one to buy? Does the stock standard come with most of what you need?

I hope BFD2 plays nicely with PT8. BFD1 and PT were never good bed-fellows.

Re: Which drum program to buy?
EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer are also very good.
That's my 0.04

Re: Which drum program to buy?
BFD2 plays very well (version 2.1.0.47) with PT 8.0.

Re: Which drum program to buy?
Ha Ha I'm not sold. :P
But like I said, I want something that can produce great results for Alternative/Industrial/Rock, has some decent in depth tweaking, great samples and works good with Pro Tools 8. What is Strike like? I haven't used it. |
