PT 8 no longer working

So I was able to install PT 8 on my Dell E6310 laptop this summer and it was working pretty well for a couple of months. I started having playback problems where I would get heavy digital distortion so attempted to uninstall - reinstall. I have used the unistall utility, deleted all folders and files that were left behind. During reinstall, everything looks like it is working but I get an error message when it is loading some of the expansion files. When I launch it, I get a "DAE error -1115" alarm and the application closes. I have tried the uninstall, reinstall several times with the same result. I installed it on an older D610 and it launches fine but the computer is too slow (2gHz single core) and has latency issues. Both are running XP Pro SP3 so I know there is nothing wrong with the install disk. Most of the problems started after I installed Presonus Capture and Presonus Studio One. I have since uninstalled those but the problem persists.

Any suggestions??
