Default Mojave Audio MA 200 Any Thoughts?

I am Thinking about Getting a Tube Microphone. Was Looking at The Mojave Audio MA200 that David Royer Designed.

was also looking at A Rode K2 & A MXL V69 too

Would like something that I could Be satisfied with on a Level of Quality.

Hear alot of People Talking about all of these cheaper mics Being Modded and Supposedly Sounding Pretty Good.

Hate to Spend a Grand or more if the others are Close in Quality.

But thought Someone might have some Input on some other Tube Mics .

No Real Price in mind Just Seeing What is out there before I Plump Down any Cash.

Thanks,
Russell

Do a search over at gearslutz.com.

I recommend the Pearlman TM1. I've heard great things about the Mojave.

the ma-200 is a great mic. David has a wonderful combination of talents that has rendered a consistent product with a real vintage pedigree.

Anyone Else Have Any Thoughts?

or On Any Other Tube Mics.

Or do you think a Tube Mic Really Makes that much Difference if you have a Good Tube Pre to Run it through?

This is more of a Gearslutz kind of question.

I don't know the Mojave 200, but I love my Royer R121's so I wouldn't be suprised if it was great. One of my absolute favorite mid priced tube mics is the Rode Classic 2. I usually prefer a tube mic for recording vocals.
