going from studio to live environment
I have been writing an album on PTLE and it is pretty heavy on the production side.
A lot of the sounds are being processed with plugins such as GRM tools. I know I will need to do a lot of work to figure out how these songs will transfer best to the live environment. I am not concerned about using all of sounds and tricks live. I am concerned about intros, endings, and bridges where the sound or plugin parameter change is a defining factor of the feel. My question is, can I use plugins with live gear and if I cannot, can the high end hardware achieve much of what I am looking for. (For example, I need to sweep the frequency on a guitar intro which I am currently doing with the GRM Band Pass Plugin?) Also, when using software such as Reason, what is the best way to handle using those sounds/arrangements live? I am worried my songs are going to end up like a Nine Inch Nails production that will be almost impossible to play live (Even though he did an amazing job of it on his last tour). Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Jeremy |
